DR. SEW-WAH TAY
Dr. Tay founded Libra Medical Inc. in January 2007 after 20 years of experience in the medical device industry. Prior to starting Libra Medical, she was Vice-President of Regulatory and Clinical Affairs at American Medical Systems (AMS) where she effectively grew and restructured the departments to meet the needs of AMS’s growing business. She also served as Vice-President of Regulatory, Quality and Clinical Affairs at Velocimed Inc. a start-up company in interventional cardiology arena that was acquired by St. Jude Medical. She was also Vice-President of Regulatory Affairs, Clinical and Quality at Survivalink, another start-up company that developed automated external defibrillators that was later acquired by Cardiac Science. In addition, Dr. Tay served in various capacities in R&D and Clinical Affairs at St. Jude Medical, Scimed/Boston Scientific, and Guidant/Boston Scientific. Dr. Tay holds a B.S. in Food Science and Technology from University of Pertanian Malaysia. She holds an MS in Chemical Engineering, an MS in Food Science, and a PhD in the interdisciplinary area of Biomaterials, all from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
Ching-Meng Chew retired in December 2016 from his position as Vice President and Treasurer of Ecolab Inc. During his time there, Chew was responsible for leading the Global Treasury function, including capital structure strategies, external banking relationships, cash and debt management, foreign exchange risk management, pension management and employee, auto, property and general liability risk management. Prior to joining Ecolab in 2009, Chew was the assistant treasurer of Medtronic Inc. He also held the position of chief financial officer at SpectraScience, a development-stage medical device company and was the treasurer at SciMED Life Systems Inc., a wholly-owned subsidiary of Boston Scientific. Prior to his positions in the medical device industry, he held roles of increasing accountability at Norwest Bank Minnesota (now Wells Fargo Bank); his last position was Vice President International in Singapore. Chew has served on various nonprofit boards, including the Council of Asian Pacific Minnesotans. He currently serves on the boards of the Minnesota Institute for Talented Youth, the Milestone Growth Fund Inc. and Hamline University. Chew has a bachelor’s degree from the University Putra Malaysia and received his master’s degree in Business Administration from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
Nate is the Vice-President of Credit and a Bank Officer at 21st Century Bank in Minneapolis. He received an undergraduate degree in Finance from the Carlson School of Management and an MBA from the University of St. Thomas.
